Posted by: Franklinstein on 2008-06-04 06:35:00 Right after I got back to good ol' Illinois, I picked up a 1GHz eMac, a blueberry iMac DV/400, a tangerine iMac DV/400, a 15" Apple ADC CRT display, some Pro keyboards and mice, and some matching USB keyboards and hockey puck mice for the Macs. Also, a bunch of PC-100 RAM, and U160 and IDE hard drives.
Aside from some case scratches, everything works well. The eMac has has a SuperDrive/80GB/512MB, which is very nice. The iMacs have DVDs. I love toys!

Posted by: coius on 2008-06-04 08:05:57 Wow. REALLY nice score. I had to pay $150 for my eMac 700Mhz when I got it. I ended up later selling it for only $75 because no one wanted it.
But that is an AWESOME score. Grat's

Someone recycled a 1 GHz eMac? WTF? Some nice computers end up being recycled. The lure of new technology is strong. When I got my G3 iMac I couldn't believe I got an end of the line 700mhz model. I was expecting a 350mhz at best.

I was expecting a 350mhz at best. Yeah, that's my experience too. Someone on my local Craigslist just gave away an eMac (I missed out, but as long as it went to a good home), and in the last couple of weeks I've gotten a 450MHz iMac, and a 500MHz iMac with 640MB RAM, 20GB HD, and CD-RW drive, off my local Freecycle.

Posted by: Mike Richardson on 2008-06-05 01:35:24 The market for iMacs and eMacs really is crazy then. I can sell iMacs for $50+ each on CraigsList. Of course I beef them up with extra RAM (256-384 MB), clean OS install and a new PRAM battery.

Someone recycled a 1 GHz eMac? WTF? I can understand that. I've got a 2.4 Ghz P4 that I am about to send to the recycler. I don't know anyone that wants it and frankly I just don't have time to deal with selling it on craigslist or whatever.

I would give it away on Freecycle or Craigslist free section or something.
