| SheepShaver Compatible Software |
Posted by: macintoshme on 2008-05-31 20:54:47 I know this probably already exists. Going to do it anyway. Post any you have tested. Be sure to include any setting from default they required to get them working. If you have any requests, please post them. All these were tested in SS w/ version 9.0.4, unless otherwise noted.
Software that works
Castle Explorer - turned up SS refresh to 60Hz to improve movie-playback, but still choppy
Castles: Siege & Conquest
Civilization 1.x
ClarisWorks 4 - Mac OS 8.5 - Windows SS
Color Dark Castle
Factory
Hell Cab
Journey
Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time - works, movies are choppy - Refresh @60Hz
Microsoft Office 4.2.1
Mille Bourne
SimCity 2000
SimTower
Space Station Pheta @256 Colors
Star Trek: Starship Creator - Crashes SS on exit
StarEdit (the StarCraft campaign editor)
Software that does not work
Civilization II - Crashes SS
Ferazel's Wand (closes on launch)
Star Trek: Starship Creator - Warp 2 - Crashes SS
Super Maze Wars - error 2 when going to enter arena
Software I would like to try:
Pax Imperia
Kid Pix - want to indulge my inner child

Posted by: Brit on 2009-01-19 13:42:53 Anyone here get Barrack working? The publisher is Ambrosia Software, and it's _highly_ addictive.

Posted by: beachycove on 2009-01-19 14:45:26 WordPerfect 3.5e is said to work very well — and there is an easy install SheepShaver package with all the fixings said to minimize the fuss, available for download over on the WordPerfect Yahoo Group site.
Mind you, I haven't tried or used it. In fact, I haven't even thought about using it. Having 40-odd machines in my basement able to boot the "classic" MacOS natively makes the siren song of SheepShaver rather untempting in my case.
Maybe one day when my collection of old macs is all dead through capacitor fatigue or crumbling plastics, I will run SheepShaver out of pietas on a shiny, new bazillion GHz Intel 64-core Mac Mini — but until then ... I shall soldier on!

Posted by: cmpear on 2009-06-01 15:34:03 Star trek starship creator work but not well. Star Trek Starship creator wrap 2 don't work so does Deluxe. I don't know about Star trek encycleopedia and techinal manual.
3d Puzz Norte Dame Cathedral work.
Christina
PS
Can it be fix so I can play Star Trek games??

Posted by: joshc on 2009-06-01 23:32:39 Emulation is great when it works, but I never had a huge amount of luck with Sheepshaver. I find it much more enjoyable to put a real old PPC to use.

Posted by: windozed on 2009-06-02 15:12:08 I haven't tried any games, but before I got Quickdraw 3d working I used Photoshop 4, WordPerfect 3.5, an anacrostic generating program, and Print2PDF, with great success.
Since getting QuickDraw 3D operational, I run Infini-D 4.5, the last release of Meshwork, the next to last release of Geo3D, and several of the Apple legacy tools, including TextureEyes, 3D MovieMaker, and MakeObjectMovie, (and Gerbils!) also with great success.
One of the guys over on the E-Maculation forums has quite an extensive list of stuff that he's tested.
