What the heck happened to the PB 160 in this auction? The video port seems to be missing...

Good catch. Perhaps there's a 140 or 145 mobo in that thing.

I can't remember, do the 160's even have a video out port? I thought it was only the 165/165c and PowerBook 180/180c.

I'm guessing that it could be an older PowerBook (14x series, or 170) with a top case from a 165c/180c.

Yeah, the 160 did have a video out port. Back when I was in my Powerbook phase, I'd routinely swap out the innards of one book and put it into the (better looking, less beat up) case of another. So I'm guessing that's what happened here.

The video output of the 160 is on a daughtercard which also carries the RAM. My guess is that this daughtercard has been pulled just leaving only the motherboard, probably not a lot of use without the card.

So the onboard RAM is gone on that machine?

Assuming the daughtercard's gone, that means that the RAM is gone, as well as the CPU and the ROMs and a couple of other bits.
