| What advantages are there going from OS 8.1 to OS 7.6.1? |
Posted by: Maconthemove on 2008-04-16 23:10:00 Thinking about putting OS 7.6.1 on the Q650. Any drawbacks?
The Q650 has 136mb ram, 4gb hd, 40mhz cpu, good video card.
Will be loading Adobe software, Office apps and will be surfing the net slowly.

In your case, I'd probably create a 1GB system partition (for apps and system folder) and two 1.5GB data partitions. That might not be the best solution -- it depends on how the SCSI Manager (in ROM in your case) interprets the geometry of your disk.

With 7.6.1 you can not read an HFS+ partition
The max partition size HFS System 7.1 and earlier is 2 gigs
The max partition size HFS System 7.5.5 and later is 4 gigs.
