| 040 upgrade on a Rocket? |
Posted by: Bunsen on 2008-04-14 22:40:47 Barring space considerations, and socketed vs unsocketed 040s - a QuadDoubler or similar 040 upgrade in Rocket ... possible?

Posted by: equill on 2008-04-14 23:40:03 Socketting is not a problem. One of mine arrived with a 40MHz '040 in place of its designed 33MHz, a relic of an unfinished intention to upgrade. 33MHz now rules again.
As far as the speed increase is concerned, however, I am not sure what the former owner had intended. If you were to PM our own mercurial member, he may be able to fill you in.
