SCSI, ADB, LocalTalk..

Everything you could want from USB.

How hard do you think it be to make?

Edited, make a little more sense.

Fairly. Have a look at the "Dream Peripherals" thread for some reasons why.

Course, if you don't mind your "dongle" being fairly large, you could always just use any PCI G2 or beige G3 Mac with a USB card.

Your other option would be to collect one of each and mount them all in one box with a USB hub, like so. There are individual items for each function around.

Back when the first iMacs came out, there were a couple of manufacturers making boxes like you describe. Some had parallel printer ports as well. They varied in terms of driver stability and serial compatibility (ie Localtalk or not)

Thought it would be hard. It sounds like a fun project.

A Mac Plus keyboard port would be cool as well.
