There's some good stuff there like a boxed MacOS 8 but definitely not enough to justify the price considering the centerpiece is one of the worst Macs ever made.

Please consider something like:

Link to stupidly-overpriced auction

That horridly long link stretches out the page 🙂

Not if you have a big enough monitor > 🙁

Not that I do or anything, but...

Isn't there anyway to have phpBB truncate the link? I've seen some other

CMS forums that take the link and truncate it with an ellipsis in the middle

so that it doesn't cause this problem.

(Yes, I hit Enter at each line so that it would be easy to read.)

Not that I've seen, though I haven't looked for a while. phpBB 3 does it automagically, so it won't be a problem once we (finally) upgrade to that...

Luckily with eBay auctions you can just chop off everything after the item number and it doesn't make a difference, so who knows why they put all that crud in the URL anyway -- probably just to annoy people like us [😱)] ]'>

Note the $200 shipping fee! Wow! What a deal!

This doesn't sound as bad as the one regarding "THE FIRST COMPUTER EVAR" for $10Gs or so (it was an Apple IIe 😛 ). Heard it on RetroMacCast a few weeks ago.

Posted by: Franklinstein on 2008-06-20 17:41:47
Didn't somebody mention that on here, in Trading Post or the Apple II spot? I laughed a bit on that one. I kind of wonder how they figured it qualified for such a description.

It's ba-a-a-a-ck!

The price is lower than before, but still ridiculous and the shipping is also high. Even if he gave it all away free, you'd still be paying too much with $200 to ship it. I think he'd be better off to cherry pick the best stuff out, sell it, and put the rest up for free on the local Craigslist or Freecycle.

Thats just tragic.

Posted by: Unknown_K on 2008-06-21 18:30:04
Lots of stuff, just way overpriced and nothing special (the computer itself is not one of my favorites).

Would cost a decent amount to box and ship all that (nobody would pay it).

He needs to find a local who wants it for free.

Posted by: LCGuy on 2008-06-23 00:35:46
I'd probably pay up to $50 (US47.49) for it.

Posted by: LimeiBook86 on 2008-06-26 01:48:09
Wow... somebody actually bought it for the best offer of $250! :O That's still $450 shipped... ouch!

Its a sad, sad world....

Speaking of which, I just realised that the auction has it listed has having a DVD-ROM drive, and a 40GB HDD? Um...what? That CD-ROM drive, to me at least anyway, looks like a stocky, and while its very possible that it may have a 40GB HDD, I doubt it.
