I hear tell that a SCSI DVD-RAM drive will appear as a hard drive to an old Mac, and allow you to drag and drop stuff to and from it. Please do tell us if that is the case.

DVD-RAM is like that, just drag and drop but Iv never used one on an old Mac.

How old can it be to still use one?

DVD-RAM *rocks* on old Macs; I use mine to back up my SE/30 and I <3 it so much.

You'll need DVD-RAM TuneUP to make it work as removable media. "It's available if you look."
