IIc question

I just found my old IIc after a move to Ky. I started playing with it and wanted to know if anyone out there can tell me how to build a cable that will let me use the IIc with a VGA monitor. Also is there a way to build a usb port ?

Thanks

Joe

You can use any composite video monitor with your IIc - your TV will suffice if it has a video input. To use it with VGA you'll need some sort of converter.

USB on a IIc? Forget about that one...

I think VGA would be a pretty serious hack. The video expansion port is designed for use with the IIc RF adaptor or the (rare) LCD screen.

USB for the Apple II hasn't happened yet, even on the slotted models, though there is at least one guy working on it.

Another possibility is to get an old Playstation LCD monitor and plug the composite output from the IIc into the video in on the Playstation LCD. You can see mine here:

That looks pretty good... do you get a lot of colour fringing on the text screens?

Nope, none at all. Of course I pretty much use it simply for game playing but I could run Appleworks with it if I needed to.
