| Power Macintosh G3 |
Posted by: iMac600 on 2008-03-28 05:47:27 A beige desktop, 233mhz with 192mb ram installed. This machine was used as a school server for several years before being stored away for all this time.
The machine is in pristine condition. No nicks or scratches, all labels fully intact, the shielding plates are all still in place, no broken latches or anything. Not even dust in the PSU or motherboard. Even the little black arm is still there with the Apple logo etched into it.
Total cost: Free.
Thanks to the high school IT admin for offering this one to me. 🙂

Posted by: equill on 2008-03-28 06:52:36 A good catch. Well-nigh indestructible, unless a user is really determined. With rev. C ROM, 3 x 256MB low-profile DIMMs, Sonnet G4/500MHz ZIF daughter card, 4MB more VRAM, larger drives and faster CD-ROM, who knows what heights it may reach. Enjoy.

Posted by: Bunsen on 2008-03-29 08:39:13 A nice score. Even with 192 MB of RAM, my beige 300 ran OSX, um, adequately. At least it seemed that way after trying to websurf on a 6100 for years.
