First post/conquest - SE/30

Seems to be a rather good find to me, found at the MIT Flea Market (last year, however, have only had time to devote to it now.)

Mac SE/30 - with carrying case, and a Ethernet card of unknown type, kind, and origin, as well as 32MB of RAM. Also scored for $5 at said MIT Flea Market was a 160MB SCSI drive (currently in the SE/30 is a 80MB), as well as a Kensington two-button mouse and an AppleDesign keyboard.

It came with 7.1 - I've upgraded it to 7.5.5, and my only barrier to getting it on the Internet is getting my OS 9 iBook on my wireless network - I'm already sharing files to the SE from it.

What do people suggest for a good web browser, as well as a word processor? Some games would be nice as well!

Thanks :beige:

Oregon Trail and Comanche 2 and Werewolf, don't forget Thinkin' Things!

Wow, nice find! That is an especially good set-up with a decent amount of RAM and the ethernet card.

With your configuration you should be able to run iCab, which is probably the most suitable browser if you plan to access any fairly modern or complicated pages. One of my favourite word processors for older Macs is Microsoft Word 5.1 - unfortunately this isn't available for free but you may be able to get a copy from somwhere.

Nice. I've recently been collecting carrying cases for compacts. When not holding a Mac, they make nice overnight bags.
