Clamshell and 512MB SoDIMMs
Posted by: coius on 2008-03-18 21:37:18
my friend's buddy has an iBook G3 366Mhz (Clamshell DV with FireWire) and I am wondering, i am *pretty* sure that it will take it, but will it have problems taking a 512MB SoDIMM and bumping it up to 64MB+512MB? Just wondering. Some places I have seen people saying it will, some saying it won't. I think if you got the right stick, it should see it. Also, do they make low-density 512's if it won't take it? And where can I get them?

I upgraded my clamshell to 576 MB for $50 @ OWC

I think I could have saved about $5 by shopping around, but OWC have pretty good customer service.

Yup, my Clamshell works fine with a generic 512 MB module. And mine's the original 300 MHz, no FireWire variety.
