WiFi card for Compaq Evo N800c Laptop!!!
Posted by: coius on 2008-03-12 14:25:54 My PC-Card slot died in the laptop (due to being structurally unsound) from failure of connection to the board. The missing cardcage causes the solder joints to break away. So... I headed to eBay and brought up this: ew 802.11b/g Wireless MINI PCI Card 4 Compaq EVO n800c It's 802.11b/g instead of what the built-in 802.11b. I can't find the original card, but luckily, i will be able to bump up 😀
Posted by: coius on 2008-03-21 16:04:37 got the card, installed it. Antennas wouldn't go into the screen (too small of a space) so I had to put them under the keyboard. Not the cleanest hack either due to the size of the antenna ends. I put tape around them and shoved them into the pc card slot (Which was broken) and wrapped the wires around under the keyboard. it doesn't pick up the best signal, but hey! it's wifi. and it works BETTER than the PC Card.
