A very cool AsanteTalk 10baseT to LocalTalk router.

Man... I really like this PowerBook.

Wow, lots of ram

Nice one, good specs too. 2300c RAM is scarce so it's good that you've already got a good amount installed. Those ethernet>>localtalk boxes are very useful for filesharing and printing - I've got the Dayna version.

I've done some reading and the RAM seems to be topped up in this machine. From what I understand it's also non standard... that must have been freaking expensive back in 1995. I love the sub-compact size, but considering it doesn't have a CDROM or floppy, my only criticism would be that they should have put a SCSI port on the thing. The mini dock looks kinda cool.

I haven't had a conquest in quite some time, this one has got me excited again.

I'd like a 2300c to go along with my 5300cs.

Congrats on the nice score you got there.

I have been looking for one of these FOREVER!!!

The 2300 is a very nice machine - all small and compact like the rest of the Duo line but powerful enough to run at a decent speed. The lack of a SCSI port is a pain (but, as you said, a mini-dock gets around it)(heck, even a built-in floppy port would have been something) but at least it has built in serial and ADB sockets so for small file transfers good old AppleTalk is really handy.

Mucho jealousy on the 56Mb though 😉

No ADB on a Duo

Is your Dayna ethernet to localtalk plug and play or does it require software?

Thank you. It's one of my favorite finds... so far.

Oops. Been a while since I played with one of my Duos - probably had a microdock hooked up and got confused (like that's never happened before 😉 )
