Nice job.
I got my iBook for $170 shipped from ebay. Specs were 128MB, 10GB clunker(that I still use despite its condition) and I get FireWire 😀

I get the PC Card slot, yes... that will be used for my Lucent WaveAccess Gold card 😀
Other than that, I am not too sure about the optical drive. I will have to see. The guys says it's a CD-ROM, but it very well could be a DVD-ROM. not sure...

That's a great deal!
My 400mhz Lombard was $115 with 128MB RAM and a 6GB hard disk. Now if only I could figure out why it locks up with a hot bottom in MacOS X.....

I think you may have slightly overpaid, but for the specs you got I have seen people pay much more recently.

Well, two problems
It has a 333Mhz CPU with WORKING 512K L2 Cache, but the other hitch is:
Two lines going down the display (blue and green) right next to each other that are stuck in "on" mode
if the display turns white, it will turn white, but they are like only 1 pixel wide each, but it's kind of in the middle of the display. But it's something I can live with 😛 I know a place I can get a new display for $30. Question, does the Wallstreet II 14" display use the same connector for the screen as the Wallstreet does? (on the actual display, not the ribbon that plugs into the board) I might just want to swap displays. I know it's a long shot, but before I dig into it, I want to know if anyone can tell me that they have done it? (no, this is not a "holy grail" thing from Applefritter, I am not asking to use it with VGA 😛 I just want to know if they are the same displays)

I ordered another display off of ebay for $34 shipped. the speed of the machine is just fine, mainly because I have enough ram.
right now, this is the setup:
Lombard 14"
333Mhz G3 PPC750 w/ 512KB L2 Cache (32k L1 Cache I think)
512MB PC-100 (2x 256MB SoDIMMs, low-density)
100GB EIDE 4200RPM HDD
CD-ROM (24x)
8MB VRAM Rage LT Pro
USB/SCSI/Sound in/out / 10/100Mbits Ethernet/ 56k v.90 Modem/VGA
This setup still rocks! it's not that far off from my Pismo that I had. I am going to trick this out
FYI, I am going to test the battery and see how long it takes to go out. It seems to be a 3rd party battery from 2006. so I might get some pretty good time out of it 😀

apple still sells macbook pro's with 4200 rpm hard drives, mind you. i haven't really noticed much of a difference between speeds with what i do and probably what coius will do.

4200RPM? I'm sorry. I didn't buy the harddrive for speed 😛 I just wanted something big. And whether it's on USB 2.0 or inside an old laptop, I hardly think it will make much of a difference about the RPM of the drive when i am not using it for high-performance data access 😉
