What would happen if I installed three sticks of ddr 400 ram in a PMac G4 that took PC2100 ram?

What would happen if I installed three sticks of ddr 400 ram in a PMac G4 that took PC2100 ram? The ram would just clock down to 2100 Speeds (266Mhz)
