Performa 200 and 6.0.8L

I just learned about the crash of '07 so I'm re-posting this for reference.

I had a Perfoma 200 (sold it to a nice chap in Iceland!). It will NOT load 6.0.8L. I tried to do so but never was able to get it to load.

Perhaps Whish I were will let you change it to a Classic II but I never tried it.

I don't remember this particular thread (heck, I can't even remember where I put my car keys yesterday), but perhaps there's some useful information in Apple's site:

In particular, booting from the 6.0.8L installer is important if the Performa is already running a more recent OS.

That's certainly weird. A Performa 200 and a Classic II don't even have differing gestaltID's, so I don't know how the installer can tell the difference...

Agreed. I was planning on using the Performa 200 to run AppleShare 2.x which is a System 6 only app. Never did get it to load. Finally got an SE/30 to do the job but that's another story.
