| Laserwriter Pro - $40 - good deal? |
Posted by: wood_e on 2008-02-11 20:42:02 I found a LW Pro for $40 - unsure of the exact model. Needs a toner....
I already have a Brother HL-5050 printer, but why not 1 more eh? Should I jump on it?

Posted by: wood_e on 2008-02-12 06:29:44 It's a pro 630 model - It's $38 w/ free shipping on ebay. I know it will probably cost at least $30 to ship so why not :b&w:

Posted by: 4seasonphoto on 2008-02-12 17:01:22 Buy it if you want to own an Apple LaserWriter, but as a money-saver, I dunno: Toner will likely cost you $70, and if it needs new rollers or a fuser, the costs add up fast.
A couple of months ago when I was shopping for a printer, I found a killer deal on new H-P LaserJet P2015DN: Networkable, Postscript laser with duplexer, internal web server for configuration and other modern niceties. Works with Windows, works with Mac, works with Linux, probably even supports Appletalk. Even comes with a full toner cart, not a "starter". Warms up surprisingly fast and is silent when in power-saving mode. Price after rebates? About $250.

This printer is more for pointless nostalgia [🙂] ]'>
