Simple Mac p2p?
Posted by: aphetica on 2008-02-07 07:58:24
Can anyone point me to an uncomplicated Mac p2p? (ppc, universal) 10.4

I have Limewire right now, but the network seems very limited and it's difficult to find anything that isn't mainstream.

Bittorrent is good and all, but not for small, individual files.

I recently DL'd Shakespeer and Valknut, but I can't make any sense of either of them. 🙁

Is there anything out there that is as simple to use as Limewire, but with a better network?

I'd also like to ask that any piracy drama be left at the door.. mostly I search for independent, free releases.

What network are you looking for? Most P2P clients I've seen have been on the Gnutella network (the same as LimeWire) so probably won't find anything that it won't. I've always been a fan of the interface of Acquisition:

Poisoned used to work nicely on a few networks. It hasn't been updated in ~1.5 years though, so I don't know if it works any more. It certainly won't be Universal, but might run under Rosetta...

frostwire is quite nice. It's based on the same code as LimeWire, but free!!!
