| Got an iMac G3 350 |
Posted by: benjgvps on 2008-01-22 13:50:54 I got a iMac G3 350 from my friend for $30 and boy was it disgusting! It made 4 q-tips black and a disinfectant wet wipe yellow and black. His parents are smokers so that doesn't help with the smell. I got 98% of the dirt and gunk off and the gunk I can't get out is this orange-ish color in the cracks on the front of the case (http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb271/benjgvps/IM000857.jpg) and I can't get it out. How would I be able to take off that section of the plastic to clean that? I also cleaned off the hard drive (Keeping the things I wanted) and reinstalled OS 9 and installed the 9.1 patch. I am going to track down the 32MB stick of ram I removed from my windows box so I will have enough Ram to play the Sims 1. I will also get a Wifi access point so I could get it online.
Here it is: http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb271/benjgvps/IM000853.jpg

Posted by: Christopher on 2008-01-22 15:59:37 I'm sure when you crack that thing open you can clean off that gunk around the seam.

I might end up trying because that little bit of gunk is just screaming to be cleaned. I also want to put in a bigger hard drive (Eventually).
