Quadra 800 Weird Error
Posted by: macintoshman on 2007-12-29 08:05:17
When using netscape 3, the system bombed stating the following:

"Floating Point Coprosser not installed"

But it has a full 040. Is my 68040 dieing?

I never swapped CPUs

This is realy weird. And before that, Netscape frose on Google.

I hope the FPU is not dead in the 040. :'(

I have seen that error once or twice on a PowerPC which always has an FPU. It's probably a fluke.

try with software FPU

this kind of errors usally come when you run a 68k app on PowerPC, because the Mac OS emulate the 68020 code without the floating point coprocessor ... in your case ... I do not know maybe bugy netscape written in FAT code
