Xmas: G4 Upgrade & Leopard
Posted by: MacTCP on 2007-12-25 14:48:16
I just got this upgrade, and I installed Leopard on my G4. It runs great aside from graphics at these specs:

1.2 GHz G4

1GB RAM

Rage 128

40GB HD

It's a great upgrade from Panther, and I'm really liking the new features, especially Spaces and Webclip. 😀 When boot into OS 9, it is also incredibly fast.

That's cool. Congrats on the upgrade. I'd love to get an upgrade like that as a gift, but my wife and family are too uncomfortable shopping for computer equipment to buy something like that for me. Have fun with it!

Peace,

Drew

Eventually, I plan on getting a GeForce 6200.

Since I sold an iSight for $200, I can get it now. 🙂

so what kind of mosnter are you running now ?

I'm really liking Leopard. Minus the broken hierarchical dock folder menu's that is. 10.5.1 runs pretty goo don my 1GHz Ti and smooth as silk on my G5. It should run pretty good for you, once you get a decent GPU that is.

New Specifications:

1.2 GHz G4

1GB RAM

GeForce 6200

2X 40GB HDs

It really runs great with the new GPU. Time Machine and Front Row are great.
