Craigslist Classic

I got another Classic today from Craigslist. Came with Keyboard II, ADB Mouse and an Image Writer II. Even has an original Apple powercord.

Running System 7.1 with 2 MB RAM and 40 MB HD.

Do the original powercord make it worth more, iv got it in mine i think.

You gonna kit it out with 4 MB of RAM?

I don't know if that powercord was original to the Classic or the Image Writer, not sure about what it does to value. May be just better to a collector - that was why I mentioned it because I hardly ever find them.

I understand some type of card is required to boost the RAM; not sure where to find one of those. If I can find one I will be boosting it up to 4 MB.

the classics use a propriety expansion card for the ram and their slot only accept that card and nothing else

they are almost impossible to find if you have more then 2 mb you probably have it already if not ...wel

The RAM daughter card in the Classic has 1MB of RAM soldered onto it so if your machine says it has 2MB installed then it will already have a card in it (1MB on motherboard and 1MB on the daughter card). The daughter card has 2 slots on it that you can fill with standard 1MB 30-pin SIMMs to give it a full complement of 4MB.

Nice find! 🙂

Yup. If you have >1 MB, you have the adapter.

Thanks for the info guys! Now running at 4 MB RAM 🙂

EDIT: That was so easy and I had a whole stack of the memory sticks so I upgraded two more of my Classics!
