I am not sure if anyone here collects old calculators or not...
I got a Commodore 796M (electronic calculator) today at a thrift shop. It even had it's warranty card and instruction leaflet that describes it as a "personal mini computer"! It dates back to 1976. Not a bad scoop for $2.00 [🙂] ]'>

i stil have trouble getting my head aroudn what was supposed to be so special about calculators in that day and age

I've been snagging cool vintage calcs for a few years now - I don't have any Commodore units yet, but I do have one of these:
