anybody who thinks one button mice are superior are nuts In terms of Apple mice they are - the Pro Mouse is gorgeous and has a real high-quality look and feel to it, whereas the multi-button Mighty Mouse looks and feels very cheap and dull. In terms of functionality a two-button one with a scroll wheel is of course vastly superior, though I could never bring myself to use a PC mouse with a Mac and wouldn't want to sue a Mighty Mouse, so the Pro it is 🙂
Who would want to use one of the old ADB mice when they could use a Pro though? I use a Pro on my Mac just because it looks so awesome and has a really nice feel and action, the ADB mice are pretty nasty in comparison (especially the old square ones, you only have to look at them to know they are not going to be comfortable to hold!).

Posted by: Temetka on 2007-12-19 22:51:47 It would be kinda cool with one of the teardrop style ADB mice out there.
However I love the look of the pro mouse. All glowy and red inside. Like the heart of Satan Himself.

Posted by: Quadraman on 2007-12-20 05:12:11 I love the weight, feel and look of the Pro mouse. I also like that it tracks more accurately over many surfaces than a ball mouse. I also like the way the teardrop feels in my hand, even if it does seem a bit delicate and flimsy but I would love to see the internals of the Pro in the teardrop with maybe a weight added to give it some heft. I don't know how the writer of this got the Pro mouse open, though, as it does seem to me to be epoxied or maybe sonically welded together and hard to open without damaging it. I also wonder if a USB mouse can be adapted to ADB.

Posted by: pqhf5kd on 2007-12-20 07:59:32 I want it to other way round. My old Apple Keyboard II and the square mouse, just wont match my imac, g3 or metal.

Posted by: cinemafia on 2007-12-20 08:30:51 Heh, I did one of those too, based on the Ducks' process. Really easy (and somewhat pointless) little hack.

Posted by: Mac128 on 2007-12-20 18:36:18 This mod's been around the block, http://bounav.free.fr/mods/vintage_mighty_mouse/
but still inspiring. I like that he kept all of the original parts intact, including the ADB connector. Either way, all of these are much nicer than this rather unattractive hack: http://www.command-tab.com/images/hacks/usb_adb/finished_bottom.jpg
I intend to do a wireless mouse in an original M0100 mouse case one of these days, to match a companion M0110 wireless Keyboard mod ... as soon as the prices come way down.
