| Powerbook 190cs/66 ? |
Posted by: . on 2007-12-05 14:41:38 I don’t get it – is it a 33mhz or a 66? And if it’s a 66, doesn’t that make it the fastest 68k machine?

Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2007-12-05 15:20:28 It's 33 MHz. Sometimes, 68040 chips are referred to as double their actual speed rating because the clock input runs at double the main speed.
Read note 1 on your linked page:
This model is designated as having a 66 MHz processor, since theclock input runs at 66 MHz. However, the processor itself is not
"clock doubled", so technically it is only a 33 MHz processor. |

Posted by: LCGuy on 2007-12-05 16:00:56 I believe it was done as a way of competing with PC manufacturers, who at the time were using 66 Mhz 486DX2/66's.
