Posted by: Mike Richardson on 2007-11-25 04:49:02 I have a Glidepoint (trackpad only). Never seen this one though.

Posted by: MacMan on 2007-11-25 05:11:10 I've got one of the normal Glidepoint trackpads - very nice thing to use btw! Never seen that version though either. I do have an ADB numeric keypad for PowerBooks though...

Posted by: Bunsen on 2007-11-25 05:59:50 I've eyed those off before as possible controllers for a CarMacMP3 project. Ended up with a version from another manufacturer with a trackball instead of the pad.
/edit/ I've also got a couple of the standalone Alps Glidepoint trackpads

Posted by: equant on 2007-11-25 21:05:20 I have one on my SE. It came with a driver disk, which of course is not needed. It's just a control panel that lets you adjust a few things. I have my right button send command-w. The track pad is tappable.
My SE doesn't have a pram battery, so the default tablet setting of the mouse works great with this 😉 I actually like using it a lot. I got it for an mp3 system as well.

Posted by: Charlieman on 2007-12-02 14:14:22 Alps GlidePoints have been sold on eBay UK on a regular basis over the last couple of years. Alps products are good looking and fit in well with the platinum Mac designs. I use mine with my workhorse SE/30 which is parked in a tight corner, making a mouse difficult to use.

parked in a tight corner, making a mouse difficult to use. Yep, they're great for that. I am not a fan of trackpads, but with the tap-and-hold feature it's very useable and definitely space-saving.... and they don't get dirty or require a mousepad.
