iMac G4 "arm" bolts
Posted by: stevep on 2007-11-24 09:10:33
Does anyone know if there is a tool available to remove the bolts on the arm supporting the screens on these iMacs?

They have 3 small indents in a triangular pattern, and I don't want to do any damage.

Thanks!

Sorry, no idea.

But... wouldn't it be a neck rather than an arm?

I guess one could consider it a neck! ;D

I would check to see if you have a local place that specializes in fasteners. For example, here in Austin, we have the Austin Bolt Company. They sell most every type of bolt and the tools to turn them, that you can imagine.

When I was having a problem with my motorcycle license plate being stolen, they sold me some torx style bolts with a little nipple in the center of the torx indent, and a screwdriver bit to work them with.

There are also some machining and hardware oriented stores on line. I'm blanking out on the name of one of the major ones right now.
