| a few conquests |
Posted by: mrmike on 2007-11-13 06:17:14 awhile ago; i found a G4 (with the right-side easy access panel) had 2.0 GB ram and a 160 GB hdd (FREE)
after that, found a LC520 (working, original mouse + keyboard) ($2, thrift store)
same day, i went to a garage sale and pulled a Dell XPS with 4.0 GB DDR2 ram and a 1.0 TB hard drive, Dual-Layer DVD+/-RW complete with keyboard mouse and 25" LCD monitor for only $25!
day after that (yesterday), someone gave me a Apple ][+ (haven't checked if it works yet)
the Apple ][+ came with an Apple III monitor and two 5.25" floppy drives, haven't looked internally ..... if anyone's looking to buy it tell me what to look for 🙂

something tells me tht he's not completly truthful yeah i agree, these seems like to good to be true conquests |
Posted by: LCGuy on 2007-11-13 13:54:05 I'd believe the LC520, considering its essentially an LCIII with a built in monitor and CD-ROM drive, but the others? A brand new top of the line Dell for 25 bucks, and a souped up G4? From a new member with only one post?

Posted by: mrmike on 2007-11-14 01:13:59 want me to post up some pics?
|
Posted by: Mike Richardson on 2007-11-14 01:21:04 He said he got it at a garage sale. It's possible that the seller was ignorant or uninformed of the computer and therefore sold it for very cheap. That's how most of the great deals at garage sales are won.

Posted by: Bunsen on 2007-11-14 07:56:58 Come on. $25 for a system including a 25" LCD?
*beep*beep*beep*beep*beep*
And since when was 25" an LCD size?

That's how most of the great deals at garage sales are won. Still...a brand new top of the line PC, with a big monitor...you'd have to be pretty dumb to not know its worth money.

*reaches and turns off BS Detector* Yep, I call fake too - 25" isn't a standard size, and 1 TB hard drives are barely out and very expensive. The older G4s can't even recognise 160 GB either 😛

Posted by: LCGuy on 2007-11-15 14:36:16 Actually, they can, if you install an additional ATA controller card. 😉 But no, not stock.

Posted by: MacG4 on 2007-11-15 14:39:05 this is a bs conquest and we all know it. even if pics are posted who knows if they are actually real or not.

this is a bs conquest and we all know it. even if pics are posted who knows if they are actually real or not. Yeah, not exactly a very good attempt at trolling.
