Hi,
I was just wondering if there's a way to make newer Mac Os (8 and above) support the sound driver found on the earlier versions (like system 7 or 7.5). Some games simply don't have sound under newer OSes but they do under the older ones.

If you have ever followed the changes of name and association between video and sound management from System to System to OS version, you will have noted that these seem to have been more obviously affected by processor (and therefore, the code base) changes than other apps and control panels/extensions.
I just Googled on 'Macintosh Sound Manager', and found a large number of Developer articles. If you care to follow some of them you may get an authoritative answer to your question quite quickly.
