Dunno about your particular situation, but my LG LCD monitor works fine with any nubus cards I have in my IIci.

Not always. If the video card is sync on green, forget it unless you have SoG adapter. I haven't had any luck with LCD panels with the IIci built-in SoG video, for example, but panels work with almost all of my NuBus cards. I've even had panels working the SE/30 adapter for a Radius Pivot card.

Hello everyone,

first post here, and happy to discover such a heaven for old macs! 🙂

I have a Mac IIvx here working everyday as the brain, memory and code supplier for my audio mixing desk (a Harrison automated Serie 12)

I have found, when the old CRT touchscreen used with the desk died, that the second nubus video card dedicated to that CRT was sending RVB signal with Sync on Green.

After having had by phone every single person from every single LCD maker on the planet (99% of them don't even know that SoG exists!!!), i've found that any LCD panel from Phillips DOES accept such signals!

It is not often specified by other manufacturers, so at least there is this phillips option...

An old source to cover most difficulties around connecting third party monitors to vintage Macs is the LAM page of Uwe Draeger:

edit: the page has been moved to: http://lam.kilu.de/

(was: http://www.fortunecity.de/wolkenkratzer/486/60/inhalt.htm)

It is written in German, not maintained any more and full of pop up advertisements, but with the descriptive illustrations most information will be understandable with few words.

Even a scheme for a DSub15-SCART-connector is given to use a TV set as a Mac monitor (lo res but impressive size).

(LAM stands for "Loeten Am Mac", it is a Mac specific guide relating to hardware hacks.)
