Posted by: pee-air on 2007-10-11 16:55:35 Don't know of any freeware utilities to defrag your drives off hand, but Norton Utilities does a bang up job of the task. I wouldn't expect you to have too much difficulty finding Norton Utilities.

Although perhaps cumbersome, this method has two things going for it:
1) It automatically creates a backup of your disk.
2) It uses no software that may have been obtained above room temperature.

Posted by: alk on 2007-10-11 21:31:43 Norton does a bang up job of banging up your disk... I'd stear clear, but if you have to, make sure you have at least a 4.x version of Norton as previous versions don't work with HFS+.
Alsoft PlusOptimizer might do the trick for you, but it's not free.
Peace,
Drew
