| Problem with Cookies? |

It seems like no matter which machine I use it on, after like a day goes by, even though I have it save my login into cookies, I end up getting logged out.
I have had this happen on like 3 different machines running from Safari to FireFox to Internet Explorer. No matter what, after a short amount of time, i end up getting logged out. Sometimes, it happens WHILE i am logged in. I will go to another forum topic, and it logs me out.
~tl, you know what is going on? Do we have a cookie expiration problem?

sounds more like you have a cookie storage problem.
whats your main web-browsing machine?

I've never had a problem with expiration either. Are you sure you're clicking the little box on the login form that says "Log me on automatically each visit"? If you don't then phpBB doesn't use cookies and relies on PHP's sessions to keep you logged in, which are a lot less reliable.

yeah, i got it checked. I have cleared cache and whatnot, and even reset my browsers (both on Windows AND on Mac OS X) and it just keeps logging me out

I keep having problem with the forums not recognizing that I've already read them. Anyone else having this?

(my apologies for semi-hijacking this thread coius) The forum icon on the index page will only show as read when ALL topics in that particular forum are marked as read. It's a bit annoying, but it's just a limitation of phpBB.

I am having the same issue as coius. Was browsing around here then spent some time talking with BoIIe about that 4400 on the IRC channel. Then I come back here and reload a 68kMLA page and I am logged out. I have not noticed this on other forums and it has happened here a couple times since midnight or so.(7:32 AM now)
In fact I had to log in to post this. -_-

I had a weird problem a few weeks ago for some reason. I would be logged in to some of the 68kmla pages, but not all of them. I don't know what changed, but it stopped doing it all of a sudden and now I am logged in to all pages normally all the time.

Yeah, I know, but even when I go through them and click into every thread, it still doesn't register as read, and even the threads don't register that I've read them :-/

It keeps me logged in for about 3 weeks at a time. I guess machine/browser has a cookie auto-dump.
