Posted by: mindingulove on 2015-01-08 15:16:27 Hello everyone
I have an old apple infrared receiver that uses dab, and two powerbook laptops, a 1400s running mac os 7.6 and a powerbook 180 running system 7.1.
The problem starts here, the 1400 has already an built in infrared dispositive, and i wanna connect my apple adb receiver to the powerbook 180 so that i can exchange files.
But i can't seem to find any software and driver to use infrared on the 180, is there any chance someone from old school know how to solve this?
thank you

http://lowendmac.com/2015/irtalk-irda-and-the-mac/ thank you for the link! but stills the question, how can i transfer files between powerbook and other computers? i have an iMac g3, a powerbook 1400 an iMac g4 and an iMac g5, i think the only possibility of transferring is from powerbook 1400cs and or iMac g3. i tried null modem cable, using zterm, but idk how to configure. any idea? thank you

Posted by: unity on 2015-01-08 17:44:55 A Ethernet PC card in the 1400 would work. I used to use one from my Newton in a 1400. Worked great. You can get em dirt cheap online. Just have to be certain models so you can get the correct drivers. Or dont forget about a USB floppy drive for the G3 iMac.
