I wanted to share this one of course. 😓 I’m looking at the 1.3 models because already I own a 1.3 one in USB2 to connect on my modern machines. 🙂 Also, as I already said, I’ve got an external 640 but it seems to work sometimes good and sometimes bad. 😕 I have to try to disassemble it to check if I can extract the drive itself to connect it as an internal one. | |

If you're going to mount it in a floppy slot, you'll probably need some shims or something similar to get it to line up perfectly. However, I've only done it with auto-inject floppies, and not manual inject. So I don't know if the manual inject will line up better or not. Will certainly make it easier to get a disk out with the cut-out on the bezzel, that's for sure. | |

In 2022 I picked up 3 drives for $20 (or less). Latest one that I bought was a brand new sealed 640MB along with a used 230MB, and it was $20 free shipping. If you watch you can often find deals. You just have to search multiple terms as sometimes people don’t describe them properly. Right now there’s a Fujitsu external 1.3GB MO drive that is labeled as a “cassette reader” for example. | |
