I'd look out for a ISA riser card from a 386, 486 slimline case (with 90 degree slots) that allows you to fit a card in upside down, so to speak. Other option would be a really low profile network or sound card. | |
Posted by: Unknown_K on 2025-09-01 02:40:20The card has 10MB currently386DX (32 bit memory) and above need 4 of the exact same SIMMs, you cannot install them in uneven pairs. 3 and 9 chip SIMMs work best (parity) unlike macs which don't care. | |

The isa cards i want is a soundblaster 1.5 and a mpu clone. Best method is to make a ribbon extender into a breakout chassis. | |

The plan is to dedicate 300MB for System 7.1, and 900MB for the OrangePC side (currently have a 250MB Quantum in the IIfx and I’m maxing out on storage lol). My question is - will my particular 25mhz 486 OrangePC card be able to handle Windows 95? I have the upgrade version on floppies. I don’t really want to deal with DOS 6/Win 3.1 again, but if I must I must. | |

I tried transferring said stuff to my 9GB Avid/Seagate SCSI drive, but I get this error when I try to mount the drive in SCSIProbe:  Is there a way to update the drivers on the 9GB drive without reformatting it so it works on a 68030? I tried Apple’s HD Setup but it doesn’t see the drive at all. | |

| Posted by: Concorde1993 on 2026-07-12 15:48:44 Got the new Quantum 1.2GB drive up and running in the IIfx. I deleted the old OrangePC partition (but made a backup of it on another drive) and created a new 900MB partition, which should be more than sufficient for my needs (hopefully). However, I’m having problems with my Win 95 disks. While the first install disk is fine, disks 2-13 are unreadable by the IIfx’s SuperDrive. Reluctantly, I opened my sealed copy of Win 95 Upgrade and the same disks (2-13) are also unreadable with the IIfx. I doubt that two sets of floppies could have gone bad sitting on a shelf. My Win 3.1 and DOS 6.22 disks (both Microsoft) are still readable by the IIfx. ScanDisk in DOS 6.22 detected no errors. Is the IIfx’s SuperDrive being picky or is there something that self destructs in these old MS disks and creates havoc for our SuperDrives? | |
