RetroChallenge Winter Warm-up 2008
Posted by: luddite on 2008-01-28 11:18:49
Then again, I'm sure my Talking Moose version slaughtered the pronunciation of people's names and nicknames.
That's okay, Moose aren't that well known for their public speaking abilities... anyone know the history of that? I'd assume it was inspired by the Fawlty Towers episode withe the "talking" moose head.

I'm bummed I didn't get a single comment about it though.
I neglected to include it in the last progress report... sorry!

Luddite, thanks for hosting the challenge. You did a great job.

I'm looking forward to see what everyone does for this summer.

I agree - wonderful job Luddite, it was great fun.

I can't decide which part of the retochallenge winner's presentation I like the best.

The lucrative prize money; the presentation of the golden 5 1/4" floppy by the Swedish bikini team, or the previous year's winner presenting the vintage Apple rainbow colored jacket, just like the Masters in golf - only more colorful.

But seriously - are we going to vote on the winners? (I know, it's not about the winning...and we don't have that complex points system from years past...)

I vote for voting! 😛

Okay, but let's not do it in public... email your choices to retrochallenge@ld8.org

Categories:

1. Best creative project.

2. Best hardware project.

3. Best programming project.

4. Best blog

That should cover it. I'll leave the voting open until some time on Tuesday.

Hey, it's Super Tuesday here in the states.

Time to vote.

No, not for the presidential primaries - for the retrochallenge!

I promise - a floppy in every household, defragment the national hard drive, and uh, strong network security. Yea, that's the ticket.

At the risk of getting completely off topic:

Why does it take so long to have an election in the US? Considering there's only two parties involved it seems a rather complicated affair.

Some of the procedures and timeframes are left over from colonial times.

Some states like Florida aren't happy with it either - and they are trying to buck the system. The parties don't like it though...

WINNERS!

...but no prizes.

Congratulations to the winners 😀

If I hadn't spent the month doing exams I would have entered (and finished) my HyperCard RSS reader, when's next warm-up challenge? 😛
