SCSI2SD and Apple IIGS?
Posted by: luvwagn on 2024-09-14 10:44:42
On top of that, I have just tested the Apple Hi Speed SCSI card with the same setup. The Apple Hi Speed card does not supply termination power, so I had to supply external power (I am using an external HD case) to power the SCSI2SD. I also had to remove the external terminator.
Is someone aware of a modification to the Apple Hi Speed SCSI card so that it can provide TERMPWR? I'd like to eliminate the USB power brick that is wired to my SCSI2SD currently

I took one of them apart and saw that the teeth had been broken off of the second gear on the eject mechanism. That particular one was apparently made of a more brittle plastic than the others.

I can still use the floppy drives, it is just a pain because I have to stick a pin into it in order to manually eject. It kind of disrupts the functionality. Plus the floppies that were given to me with the IIGS are 30 years old and a lot of them are starting to fail.
This is a common problem. From time to time people offer replacement gears on ebay (3D printed, it seems), so keep looking.
