| 180MHz 603ev CPU upgrade for 5300ce? |

I would like a copy of that dump when you get around to it. Or maybe someone with a complete 5300 can do it.
Have attached the ROM here. I hope that my T48 read both chips properly. Can you check if it's valid?
Edit: I just compared the MD5 checksum using openssl md5 in Terminal. The outputted checksum is the same as that listed in the Google Doc linked previously so that's promising. |

Edit: I just compared the MD5 checksum of my file against the checksum listed in the Google Doc linked above and they are the same, so that's promising. If it matches the doc, then it's valid and known 🙂 That does mean that the 5300 definitely shares that ROM, which is good to know. |

Great, because it’s a bit tricky to get a good connection on the SOP-44 zero insertion force adapter that goes into the T48. |

Crazy thought, maybe a 1400 Rev B ROM would actually boot a 5300? 😮
I tried the 1400 Rev B ROM on a PowerBook 500 Series PowerPC upgrade card, and it boots!
The 500 Series PPC upgrade card shares a ROM with a PowerBook Duo 2300c, so it would almost certainly work there. It's likely it will boot a PowerBook 5300 Series as well.
So I'd bet your 180MHz PowerBook 5300/c/ce is achievable @Trash80toHP_Mini |
