Posted by: ried on 2023-02-14 15:05:34I was under the impression that the AppleColor Monitor 100 was Apple's first RGB monitor, but evidently that is not correct. Does anyone know what this is?
Per the FCC ID, it is a real product made by Electrohome for Apple:
Color monitor as shown. I had used as a cga monitor for an ibm clone xt.

Posted by: paulhagstrom on 2023-02-21 16:50:54Interesting. I was aware of the Electrohome monitor, one of the only monitors other than the AppleColor Monitor 100 that worked natively with the Apple ///. I didn't know there was any Apple connection, though, I just thought it was an independent endeavor by Electrohome. Those might be rarer even than the AppleColor Monitor 100, though probably not as in demand. But it's my understanding that there are only a few monitors that Just Worked with the Apple /// color monitor connection. Including the ACM 100, this Electrohome one, and this super weird beast, the Hantarex CT-2000. https://drop-iii-inches.com/2017/01/21/hantarex-ct-2000-monitor/ — the photos at that link are the only ones I can find anymore, but it was very pleasingly styled after the Apple ///, so has brown fins on the back. I'll dump a couple in here so you don't have to follow the link. The photos came from the eBay auction back in 2016.
Posted by: lisa2 on 2023-02-21 17:53:41I have the Electorhome monitor for the Apple ///. Didn't know it also can act as a digital CGA display, wish I had the pinout for that 9pin to Din cable in the ebay listing..
Posted by: ried on 2023-02-21 18:18:52Wow, those are both very impressive. The styling on the Hantarex unit is perfect for the ///. The colors on the Electrohome unit look great, too.
