Snuci's Finds...

Thanks guys.  I got the card today and the CPU is an XC68040RC40M so I guess it's a 40Mhz model but I thought I had read these came with a 33Mhz CPU and it was overclocked to 40Mhz as noted here:  https://www.fenestrated.net/mac/Turbo040/   I guess that isn't accurate, maybe for later ones?

Mine has an overclocked 33MHz CPU on it. I guess they used what was available at the time.

Mine is also an overclocked 33 MHz.  I think you lucked you with a great score.

Lucky on the Daystar Turbo 040 but unlucky with the PowerCD. No dice on making that work but at least I have the power supply and the base.  Seems to be easier to find a CD unit without the accessories. I'll have to try my luck once again at some point just to complete the unit now 🙂

Another cool score that I am seriously happy to have is an AppleColor 100.  It's a little beat up but I didn't pay a lot for it ($200 shipped) and they are impossible to find.  While it does have some discoloration, scratches and chips, the internal arm was disconnected for the motorized screen tilt.  I connected it back up and we're in business!

Couldn't stay away from this one.  You don't see an Apple Director's Chair come up for sale too often.

I received my $50 Mac Color Classic today and figured I'd open it up to see what issues there were.  I have an LC575 board for this, just in case so I didn't mind if it had issues.  I was just going to check for battery damage but when I removed the back cover, I was greeted with some type of accelerator card.  Looks to be a Sonnet Presto 040.  Gonna need to do some research on this one.  I haven't yet tried to power it up yet as I need to clean up the dust.  BTW, no battery damage either.

A 20MHz LC040? Wasn't even aware such a thing existed.

I've got a Presto 68LC040/20MHz as well and it's a nice boost over stock with the only caveat being that you can't use additional VRAM with the card (something they fixed with the Presto Plus).

A $50 color classic? Nice find! I had a Presto 040 in my Color Classic back when it was current hardware, I remember it being a nice boost.

Bought a lot of Mac ROMs.  I know what most of them are but I don't know what the lone bottom ROM is for.  Does anyone know?  It's marked 820-0431-01.

I'm going to guess Centris 610 or something similar.

Finally scored a 128k Drexel Mac.  Very happy camper here.
