The other thing is that if you've been on a Core or Core2 for awhile, it can seem "the same as it always has been" after awhile. Upgrading from a single sub-1000MHz G3/G4 to any Core2 is a massive difference. I remember when I got my iMac, it's the with-graphics version of this, and a faster processor (2.16.) Definitely nice machines.
The biggest thing to watch out for is overheating hard disks, but that was during summer, when I was running SETI, in a much hotter place, plus the disk may have been bad in general. I haven't noticed any issues with mine, just under a year on from that original issue.
Other than that, it should be a screaming machine for quite some time. Excellent find, iMac600.

I just think they must cripple the Minis somehow. I expected it to run like OS9 on my G4, but it just feels slow. Programmes take a while to open and there's a delay before windows appear. Not complaining mind you; it's good enough. ;D

Another difference may be the hard disk drive, iMac ships with a full 3.5-inch 7200rpm drive.

Not complaining mind you; it's good enough. ;D Yes, it could be the slower internal hard drive, like Cory mentioned (the mini has a laptop 5400 RPM hard drive...). Have you tried booting off an external FireWire drive? The performance should increase significantly...
