You can put a USB 2.0 card in it, but it will only work as a USB 1.1 card.

I have a PB 550c w/ PPC CPU and a PCMCIA RevC expansion module. I wonder if I can use OHCI compliant PCMCIA USB 2.0 card that are abundant in ebay w/ 8.6 :?:

Can't be done, all PCMCIA USB cards are 32 bit CardBus cards, which cannot be used on a PowerBook 500 series in any way, or any other non-PCI PowerBook.

People don't read the thread or use the search much before posting these day, huh?

Any computer shop? Seriously, as long as you're running 8.6 or later, ANY OHCI compliant card will work, including those cheap Chinese ones that you pick up from the nearest PC shop that were never intended to be used on a Mac.

Seriously? 8-o I was hoping for an online referal of someone whos sells Mac stuff or someone from the forum had one they wanted to part with. There isn't a a shop real close by and one is run by a grumpy old guy who really doesn't like selling to people who do their own stuff. I guess he has bad experiences? All the big nearby chains are gone and the one that is left probably would laugh. Besides I like doing business with fellow hobbyists online.
