Self note: don't try to sand the IO door, you will juste make it worse.
Can you use a polishing kit on it, similar to what is used for restoring vehicle headlights?

I like the textured translucent plastics. I think it looks great. Nice job.

Did you use FDM or resin?
Credits where it's due: that's resin from JLCPCB. I don't own a 3D Printer

Good idea, worth a try !

Thank you for sharing these, I ordered the open version from Shapeways and it fits like a glove! Almost did the CD one with the button, but wanted the versatility of the wide open one. Will get around to painting it soon, but the texture is perfect. Thank you!!

Here's an enclosure for a PowerBook PB 1[4-8][0,5]c? li-ion battery I drew. It's expected to be used in conjunction with the locking tab from an original battery. Thread with more details over in the PB forum:

I need to edit this so I can use 5 (or maybe 10) AA size NiCD batteries. Do you have the model on a Fusion360 format you would be willing to send me so I can just cut out the battery holder part? Maybe STEP or OBJ would work too?
Posted by: tkz on 2023-08-10 09:14:09
Somehow I do not see the pictures. I have one 13 inch Wallstreet and one 14 inch Wallstreet.
The 13 inch has weak plastic to hold the LCD, just like PB1400, and the 14 inch hinge metal
can be broken any time due to metal fatigue. I would like to have the 3D CAD part for both
13 inch and 14 inch LCD

Agreed. While the work is awesome and will try to build it, I would rather use AA batteries I have around

I just made a new pack yesterday. Ended up modeling one myself since I wasn’t able to edit the STL. I made two packs. One with 10 1,000mah NiCd AA batteries which gets around 1.5 hrs runtime and another with 10, 3,000 maH Nimh batteries that’s getting around 2.5 hrs runtime. I haven’t done load tests to find out exactly that the maH is of these batteries it’s just what the manufacturer is claiming. My guess is the “3,0000” ones are probably closer to 2,000 getting me 4,000mah / 2.5 hrs.

Nice, could you share the STL(s)?
I wouldn't exactly be surprised the mAh value of those NiMHs is, well, overstated, given brandname Panasonic Eneloops cap out at 2500mAh for the Pro batteries, and if the batteries in question weren't big brand batteries I'd doubt they could top it.

Nice work, that looks great. I would also appreciate the STLs.

Exactly. I bet they’re about 2,000mah. That would be around the same as the original packs. I’ll test them and find out when I get my load tester.

These are the batteries I used: Deleepow AA Rechargeable Batteries Nimh 3300mAh 1.2V Batteries AA Size Rechargeable High Capacity 1200 Cycles 8-Pack(Only Battery) https://a.co/d/50qsR26

(3,300 mAh 😆)

I’ll post the STLs on my Thingiverse today and get you a link. You’ll need two short M3 bolts (I think I used 8mm but 6 should be fine as well) and some double sticky foam tape. It’s a tight squeeze to get the 10 batteries in there. I’m sure you know already but you wire up two separate 6v packs in series and then tie them both together in parallel.

Do you know what models this pack is compatible with? The whole 100 series or just the 180?

I believe all PowerBooks in the 100 range other than the original PowerBook 100. That includes the color display models.

Hey everyone made a BlueSCSI V2 to 3.5 Drive for Color Classic/ii/LC/Performa/ Power Macintosh Based Machines. I know It's not the prettiest but hey it works and I'm happy with it. Thought some of you would get some use out of it.

Download Link HERE

Here it is installed in my Power Macintosh 7300

DayStar Genesis MP or Millennium HDD rail clips

Been a while since I've done this in the vintage Mac community world place locale zone. I was inspired to draw these up by @cheesestraws who wanted something nicer to use in their tower than cardboard 😉 Also provided me with scans and measurements so I could knock it out quickly.

Recommended print material is Nylon
