Posted by: iMac600 on 2007-09-05 00:12:58 How did my pics get on there anyway... don't remember putting them there...
I'm the one in the back, wearing white, with the finger pointed in the air. It's taken at PBA-FM's former studios in Salisbury East during the airing of one of our old shows. The station has since moved to new premises, but we're still on air.

Posted by: iMac600 on 2007-09-05 03:46:12 Me? I'm 16. 🙂
I got my first break on to the airwaves for being in the wrong place at the right time, turning up for the first meeting of the Radio Team thinking it was a media team meeting. Started a show, worked with it, improved my skills and then it was cancelled.
Moved on to PBA-FM's day and drive-time slot assisting on their Saturday Break shows before starting desk and production training, setting myself up for certification and possibly a career in the media.

Posted by: heebiejeebies on 2007-09-05 15:46:06 iMac600 - excellent! Looks much more profesh than any of the radio stations I ever worked at. At one of ‘em the studio smelt like a horse stable. The graveyard shift was done by a computer so I did wonder what that studio was used for overnight! I worked at one big station very briefly that had excellent facilities but I got sick of everyone there being a hessian-wearing tree hugger or a mohawked feminist.
Put in a good word for me when you are Adelaide’s top DJ – I’d love to get back into it at some stage!

Sounds like a station I applied for last year... thank god we didn't get in to it, because we're better off where we are now.

Posted by: heebiejeebies on 2007-09-06 16:16:38 What, you mean it was a stable, or a hippie commune? I think I’d rather the smell of horses than some of the psychedelic smells I copped at the bigger station! [😀] ]'>
I had someone from Triple M Melbourne who liked my show when I was younger. I met him at the Triple M display at the Melbourne Show and got talking to him. He listened to the show then told me to give ‘em a call when I was 18 - but I never did. I personally wouldn’t work on commercial radio now anyway, it’s completely soulless. I’m honestly surprised they don’t just get the DJs to come in for 20 minutes a day to record a shift’s worth of inane chatter, then just programme it all into the computer. I could try ABC Classic FM but I sound like too much of a bogan. It’d be like a footballer wearing a tuxedo.
Well good luck with your career – start sendin’ your tapes to Triple M now! They ought to have a drawer full of your tapes by the time you turn 18!

Everyone here is too young. Where's all the old timers?? Well, I am 'old at heart'!
Old age is wasted on the elderly!

Old age is wasted on the elderly! Old timers? Lol, in computer years, it doesn't take that long I suppose. 😉

Posted by: ChristTrekker on 2007-09-11 07:43:49 I was thinking of posting a pic on the wiki, but I'm a bit paranoid. Maybe I'd run it through a filter and make it look "artistic" ... yeah.
