Posted by: LaPorta on 2021-01-29 07:18:38 I've gotten in the habit of measuring the caps. I got burned once or twice with power supplies and the new caps being too tall, etc. In fact, I actually am going to do a video soon on the ways I do surface mount caps. I gave up on actually using hot air on them: the iron gives me way more control and I have heat on the board far less. There's a few methods I use as a beginner, but I get along with simple tools and I have learned a few things along the way that perhaps others can learn before messing things up as I did!

Posted by: Challenger 1983 on 2021-01-29 07:31:52 Definitely! it would be nice to have a video resource for recapping, I usually pick the smallest cap with the correct values when working with PowerBooks, and I make sure to clean and flux the board before applying the new caps, it works every time for meĀ
