Raydeen....
I don't understand how the USB Ethernet to Wifi thing would work. Do you plug it into a ethernet port in your Mac? How do you search for WiFi networks to connect to if it has no software?
I am looking for a easy solution for my Color Classic. This might work??!!
Thanks
mraroid Here's what I did:
I got it for my clamshell iBook as the Airport card I have in it is only WEP capable. The Vonets unit plugs into both the Ethernet (for data) and the USB (for power - although you can get an AC adapter for it). Once it was plugged in, I went to 192.168.254.254 per the manual, but the Classilla browser couldn't quite handle the login and config pages, so I used my iPhone to connect to the Vonets, logged in and then connected it to my house wifi via the built in browser and software on the Vonets. It's a little cumbersome that way, but you can do what I did or config it on another more modern OS/computer and then move it to the older machine. I'm still testing and experimenting with it. Some pages seem to load up right away while others seem to hang a bit - can't quite tell if it's the unit, the browser, or just some weirdness in getting the device to talk to the wifi router consistently. I've seen reviews where people rave about it, and others have hated it. I figured it was cheap enough that if it didn't work to my expectations, I could return it or find another use for it.
