Blue SCSI for PowerBook 100
Posted by: Beige4Ever on 2026-05-26 14:54:59
I tried... I couldn't figure out how it worked. And when I did, it wouldn't boot from them. I have a thread here on my portable if you want to talk more about that there. It's Question about the macintosh portable. I know i missed the s in questions! 😆

Literally go watch this video:

There's also always the official documentation: https://bluescsi.com/docs/Usage
Which even includes some premade bootable images to get you off the ground.

Still the macpack works but the infinitemac one doesn't. Even doing it just like Ron did. If you have any idea pls let me know because I think it's something with the checksum checking because it always shows a zero not a 1 or 2. Here is a copy and what is highlighted is what i think is wrong. I also included a download to the log file from the pico for the infinite mac one that doesn't work.

Does the PowerBook 100 need the same BlueSCSI v2 "Mac Plus" ini file tweaks that the Macintosh Portable needs? The PB 100 is pretty much a repackaged Portable, but I guess it could have some tweaks? Worth trying if this is unknown I guess:

All that makes me think your SD card is bad.

At the very least, reformat it using Rufus or the official SD Card Formatter app, copy your images back and retest.

You can also test your image to see if it's bootable in something like Snow (https://snowemu.com/) set to emulate something like a Mac Plus.

So apparently the infinite mac emulators disk image is not a multiple of 512!.. I don't know what that means... 🙄

I promise it works just fine. I've set up at least a dozen machines using this method.

It didn't boot in snow though because of that. I am going to try setting up my hard disk image in snow and then see if it works. (And try a different SD card)

Before you invest any more time in this, just download one of the sample images off the BlueSCSI support site and try that.

I just went out and tested the method from the video, and it still works.

Here's a 6.0.8 install for any Mac. Rename the file and give it a test.

Also, delete your bluescsi.ini file.... why do you even have that?

I'll try that again.

It could be the SD card but I didn't think It was the SD card because mine is brand new. But it could be.

I'll test your file and the bluescsi.ini file is there because supposedly you need it according to the bluscsi compatibility site. But I'll delete it and see how it goes. Thanks!

Heres the log without the bluescsi.ini and with your .hda.
Posted by: Froggy814 on 2026-05-27 09:12:49
The log with the bluescsi.ini and your file.

The bluescsi has only shown a very slow blinking led each time, It should be showing more in the log methinks.

Where is it stated that it's needed for the PowerBook 100?
Posted by: Beige4Ever on 2026-05-27 09:16:36
What other devices do you have plugged in that you have your file at HD1?
Posted by: Froggy814 on 2026-05-27 09:17:11
It showed the same led type but with my custom bluescsi.ini it has shown in the log a whole bunch more. Still with your file.
