A modern day Einstein! Yeah, I’d like to have the photos for sentimentality reasons. Are they worth thousands of dollars? No, sadly. My story is more a cautionary tale in the spirit of the OP’s than anything. I wouldn’t have saved anything sentimental exclusively on it if I’d known one day it it could/would spontaneously deactivate. I didn’t know that was a thing until it happened. I’d never heard of firmware lock until this thread, either. EDIT: I like Apple products because of the design and interface of them. I’m not interested in their security features. Any that I know of I generally disable. I don’t store any information on most of my electronic devices that anyone could do anything with. My phone is a flip phone. Someone wants to hack into my PUD and Internet provider accounts and pay my bills? Look at pictures of things and people they don’t know? Listen to the music I enjoy? Be my guest!
