5 Power Macs configured by AVID

I have just messaged @Windoze
There are 6 or so dongles coming my way.
Three of the dongles are with AVID labels.
The previous owner has no idea which program they are for.

It will take a while until i get the dongles ... I have also provided Windoze with a Quak XPress 4.0 dongle emulator system extension that i found somewhere. Quark XPress was one of the most notorious applications to use the Rainbow Sentinel Eve 3 dongle.

I also have someone who will take most of the Audio related stuff in a few weeks. Hopefully, he can do more with it than i. I will most likely also part with my 1967 Philicorda GM751 home organ and other audio-stuff. Too much stuff has accumulated over the last years...

I have received a "Dongle Emulator" for the AVID AudioVision 4.1 Software. It works and the systems are now in working order.

Maybe i should compile a complete backup of all needed software, extensions and tools to upload on archive.org?
The software will only work with the AVID cards, though but will be unusable for anyone else.

Of the five 9600, three are seemingly in good condition and 2 are partly working (some defects and problems).
I have also received a Dongle that may have seen used with the machines but it is not recognized and disables the keyboard and mouse when used. This Dongle is most likely defective.

If i did not have so many other things i want to do, I would already preparing a full AudioVision Workstation to tinker with.

Another good thing is that in the stuff from "Ruhr Sound Studios" was also a "Bonsai Drive" from Rosendahl that can (basically) emulate a Sony A500 digi-Beta Tapedeck. This is very nice since the Tapedecks are very big and not really my cup of tea. Funny thing: there were several working copies of "Prinzessin Lillifee (2009)" without sound but with TC on the "Bonsai Drive" (which i wiped, of course). There were also some HDMI->SDI and SDI->HDMI adapters. I am quite happy at the moment.

Happy Easter

9600s were still being used (with AVID IIRC) by the post production team of the Maury talk show back in 2003. They were "old" even back then, but still cranking out trash TV for the masses. 😛
